However, fate stepped in when classmate Mary Jane Greenberg told her mother, Tiara Records owner Florence Greenberg, about the group. Greenberg signed them to her label, released a single and then sold the label, along with the fledgling group, to Decca Records. Decca soon dropped them, which left Greenberg free to sign them to her new label, Scepter Records. At Scepter, The Shirelles hit their stride, working with the cream of the Brill Building songwriters. One of these songwriters, Luther Dixon, was hired by Greenberg to write for and produce the group and together they developed the group s signature sound. Under his guidance, the Shirelles enjoyed seven Top 20 hits and launched the girl group genre. Released as a single in 1961, Baby It s You reached #8 on the pop charts and #3 on the R&B charts. Written by Burt Bacharach, Mack David and Luther Dixon (under the pseudonym Barney Williams), the song has become an enduring classic, covered by The Beatles, Smith and many other artists. It also served as the title track for The Shirelles first album of 1962. Baby Its You features 12 outstanding songs, including their single Soldier Boy which topped the Billboard Hot 100. Sourced from the original analog session tapes, this Sundazed reissue faithfully reproduces one of the most influential albums of the early 60s (certainly, Barry Gordy would agree). Quienes vieron a Simple Minds actuar en aquella gira tuvieron la impresión de que la banda estaba cerrando un capítulo importante de su carrera, como si quisiera pasar página. Cuando en la primavera de 1987 se publica el doble álbum en vivo 'In the city of light', grabado en el Zenith de París, el grupo vuelve a acelerar los corazones de sus miles de fans. Sus cuatro caras contienen una hora y media de gran rock, una suma de toda la producción de la banda escocesa. Live In The City Of Light fue un disco en directo, editado en 1987, en donde se plasmaba la extensa gira del grupo por aquel entonces, grabado durante la actuación de 2 noches en París en 1986. El disco tuvo un gran éxito comercial pero no fue capaz de demostrar el gran directo de la banda. Tras la extenuante gira, el grupo decide tomarse un descanso. The album was recorded mostly at Le Zénith, Paris in August 1986, with one track recorded in October 1986 in Sydney, Australia. (Although the album was not recorded there, the inside of the gatefold sleeve features a photograph of a concert from the 1986 tour which took place in a square in Locarno, Switzerland). It features the band's 1986 touring lineup, which included second vocalist Robin Clark and percussionist Sue Hadjopoulos. Lisa Germano (at the time, a John Mellencamp band member who would perform on Simple Minds' next studio single, Belfast Child), contributed studio-overdubbed violin on "Someone Somewhere in Summertime" and former Simple Minds member Derek Forbes contributed  bass guitar overdubs. HUMAN LEAGUE - HISTERIA - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL 1984 PRIMERA EDICION VIRGIN RECORDS HUMAN LEAGUE - HISTERIA - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL 1984 PRIMERA EDICION VIRGIN RECORDS En 1984 sale “ Hysteria ”, el grupo parece que quiere hacer un pop mas organico, menos electrónico y menos energico que el ofrecido anteriormente,  contiene tres singles: la sorprendente “ the lebannon ” tanto por las guitarras muy cercanas al rock como por la letra muy política, esta claro que el publico del grupo, acostumbrado a cosas mas ligeras, quedo impactado con esta cancion como adelanto del nuevo album, en la cara b de este single nos encontramos la instrumental " thirteen " que en mi opinion debio ir en el album pues es un tema muy bueno. El invernal medio tiempo “ life on your own ” es quizas el sonido que hubiese sido ideal para todo el album y para diferenciarse de su anterior etapa, sin embargo se trata de un caso mas bien aislado. Luego tenemos la excelente balada “ louise ”, una bonita cancion que parece la segunda parte de " don't you want me " por la letra y que tiene unos bajos envolventes que son una pura delicia. Quizas podriamos añadir a los tres singles del album el tema " so hurt " una cancion muy bien construida con el dramatismo justo y un uso inteligente de los sintetizadores. El pop esta muy presente en el álbum, por ejemplo " i'm coming back ", cabe preguntarse como habrían sonado estas canciones con la producción de Martin Rushent. Jo Callis, deja la banda en medio de la promocion de " Hysteria " poco despues seria sustituido por el bateria Jim Russel que no iba a durar demasiado en el grupo. En medio de esta epoca problematica Phil Oakey disfruto de un momento dulce al colaborar con uno de sus idolos Giorgio Moroder en el single "together in electric dreams" tema principal de la pelicula "electric dreams", este single inesperadamente tuvo un exito masivo, tanto que se planeo un album completo para desarrollar esta colaboracion. Following the worldwide success of their 1981 album Dare, the band struggled to make a successful follow-up and the sessions for Hysteria were fraught with problems. The album name itself is taken from the problematic recording period. Producers Martin Rushent and Chris Thomas both left the project which would eventually be finished by producer Hugh Padgham. By the time Hysteria was released, three years had passed since Dare and the album met with relatively lacklustre success in comparison to its multi-platinum predecessor. Three singles from the album made the top-twenty of the UK singles chart but none of them reached the top-ten and " The Lebanon " was the only single to chart in the US, stalling at number sixty-four on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at number three in the UK, later being certified Gold by the BPI for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. In 2005, Hysteria was remastered and re-issued with B-sides and extended mixes as bonus tracks. The song "Rock Me Again And Again And Again And Again And Again And Again " is a cover of a 1973 song by Lyn Collins and James Brown. " I Love You Too Much " is a re-recorded version from the Fascination! EP and " Don't You Know I Want You " is a reworked version of the instrumental B-side "Total Panic!" that appeared on the "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" single in 1983.

The album was a Top 10 hit in the UK, and was their first studio album to break the Billboard 200 in the US, reaching number 180. Melody Maker praised the album as "psychedelia that can't be dated", while pondering, "I've yet to meet anyone who can tell me why the Cure are having hits now of all times." The Cure then embarked on their worldwide Top Tour with Thompson, Anderson and producer-turned-bassist Phil Thornalley on board. Released in late 1984, The Cure's first live album, Concert consisted of performances from this tour. Near the tour's end, Anderson was fired for destroying a hotel room and was replaced by Boris Williams. Thornalley also left because of the stress of touring. However, the bassist slot was not vacant long, for a Cure roadie named Gary Biddles had brokered a reunion between Smith and former bassist Simon Gallup, who had been playing in the band Fools Dance. Soon after reconciling, Smith asked Gallup to rejoin the band. Concert: The Cure Live is the first live album of English rock band The Cure. It was recorded in 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and in Oxford. Its cassette tape edition featured on the B-side a twin album of anomalies, titled Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984.

FLAMING LIPS - SOFT BULLETIN LIVE AT RED FLAMING LIPS - SOFT BULLETIN LIVE AT RED On May 26, 2016 The Flaming Lips performed their classic album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. The Flaming Lips (Wayne Coyne, Steven Drozd, Michael Ivins, Derek Brown, Jake Ingalls, Matt Kirksey and Nicholas Ley) were accompanied by a 69-piece orchestra and 56-strong Chorus. The performance was conducted by the internationally celebrated conductor Andre de Ridder. The Flaming Lips performed the 12-track album in its original sequence with new arrangements for each song that use the orchestra and chorus to great effect. This entire concert was produced by The Flaming Lips, Scott Booker and their long-time collaborator Dave Fridmann. The resulting live album is being released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Soft Bulletin, originally released in 1999. The album was the band’s breakthrough moment and featured the hit singles “Race For The Prize” and “Waitin’ for a Superman”.

Loose Salute is notably the first fully-produced album by Michael Nesmith since his 1968 experimental instrumental project on Dot, The Wichita Train Whistle Sings. Released in October 1970, hot on the heels of their debut, Loose Salute earned a rave review from Rolling Stone (who called it, one of the hippest country rock albums in some time, certainly the most listenable). Never reissued in its original form, it is available again on red vinyl from Sundazed for the first time since the 1970's.
